What is the label?

The label « Made in Luxembourg » consists of a name and a logo. It is a brand initiated in 1984 by the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, the Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Skilled Trades and Crafts. Its aim is to establish the Luxembourgish origin of products and services.

The label’s objectives

Knowing how to differentiate your products and services for your customers has now become crucial in order to stand out not only on foreign markets, but also on national ones. Therefore, the label “Made in Luxembourg” can be considered as an additional promotion tool for the Luxembourg based companies that seek to distinguish themselves by emphasizing the Luxembourgish origin of their products and services.

Since its establishment, « Made in Luxembourg » now regroups 425 affiliated members of the Chamber of Commerce and 325 affiliated members of the Chamber of Skilled Trades and Crafts. Among the processed requests, the label was mostly given to products.

Between 1984 and 2003, 75 affiliated members of the Chamber of Commerce have received the label for their products or services. The following twelve years have seen this number quadruple and reach 350 companies. 70 companies were granted the label by the Chamber of Commerce during the first twenty years of the brand’s existence. The Chamber of Skilled Trades and Crafts, granted the label to 255 companies since 2004. The label therefore also met an increasing interest in the craft sector during the last decade.

Since the 2013 edition, the Chamber Of Commerce offers its members, holders of the label “Made in Luxembourg”, the opportunity to take part in the collective stand set up at the Spring Fair. At the stand, the expertise of the Luxembourgish firms is put forward. Discover the video:
